Afternoon Experiential Session Descriptions
Hawaiian Outrigger Canoe Experience (outdoor water activity): $45
Ancient Polynesians used the stars, their paddles, and their mental & physical strength to bravely travel thousands of miles into the unknown. Canoe paddling is an integral part of the Hawaiian culture & was an essential form of transportation. It helped sustain the Hawaiian way of life- fishing, recreation & transportation between the islands were all possible because of the outrigger. It was how the Polynesians arrived here & how the Hawaiians were able to thrive. Through their Canoe Experience, participants will draw parallels between this cultural keystone and their own teaching practices.
